What to Expect During Your Home Elevator Installation Process

Thanks to modern advancements, installing a residential elevator has become more quick and convenient than ever. But even so, the installation process can sound daunting. But here is a quick overview of what you can expect when you purchase a residential elevator from us.

Planning

Once you choose your preferred elevator model, you will discuss with one of our experts about the ideal location to install your elevator in your home. We’ll make sure that you find the safest and most convenient place without compromising your house’s structure. You can talk to a designer today with no obligation and rest assured that when you’re ready to start the installation process, our professionals will take care of all the paperwork to make sure it’s done properly.

Construction

The next phase of installation starts the day before your home elevator is delivered. Licenced carpenters will set up the installation process by prepping the area. Usually the prep consists of so cutting and minor construction to create a space for the elevator’s supports. The entire process may take a few hours but it will contribute to an easier and more unevental installation. Our professional installers are well-versed in the local Maryland construction code requirements everywhere that we provide service, including Montgomery County, Howard County, Fairfax County, Silver Spring and the greater Washington DC area.

Installation

Now is the most important part, the actual installation itself. Professionals will arrive with all of the components and get right to work. They will start by installing the track, and then, depending on the model of your elevator, they will install the pulley system or hydraulic lift and then the elevator. They will also start rewiring your electrical system, installing a circuit breaker if need be, unless the unit you choose already has a self-contained battery. Once the installation is complete, they will test the elevator and show you how to operate it to make sure that you don’t have any issues. Only when you tell them that you are fully comfortable with using the elevator on your own will they leave. The last thing left to do is for them to clean up any leftover materials, debris and equipment. And you will be left with your brand-new residential elevator.
